Frequently asked questions

Where should I start?

With whichever question you actually have. The articles are grouped by topic rather than ordered as a course, so none of them assumes you have read the others. If you are buying for the first time, start from your country guide and come back for the parts that matter to you.

How current are these articles?

Each of the 12 carries a published date and a last reviewed date at the top. Anything resting on a price, a rule or a platform gets revisited rather than left standing, and the review date sits on the page so you can judge it yourself rather than take a promise here.

Is any of this financial advice?

No. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold, and none of it accounts for your circumstances. The guides explain how things work and what has gone wrong for other people. What you do with that is your decision.

What is the most important thing to get right?

Custody. Exchange failures from Mt. Gox to FTX wiped out customer balances that looked real until withdrawals stopped. Anything you are not actively trading belongs in a wallet whose keys you hold, and the security guides explain how to set that up.
